Daily Office
Within the Reformed Episcopal Church (REC) and the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the Daily Office is not merely a devotional reading plan. It is the Church's historic discipline of daily prayer centered on Scripture, especially Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, by which Christians order the day around worship, repentance, hearing God's Word, intercession, and praise.
Why do we pray the Daily Office?
The Daily Office is the Church's daily discipline of Morning and Evening Prayer with the addition of Midday and Completion or Compline Prayer before evening rest.
These daily prayers are centered on Scripture and the Psalms, by which Christians worship God, confess their sins, receive his Word, pray with the whole Church, learn the Scriptures, and consecrate the ordinary passage of each day to God.
The Daily Office progressively fills your mind with Scripture, shapes your heart through , and consciously orders your entire day toward God.
Below is the daily pattern by which the Church teaches us to live inside the Scriptures
